Follow this guide carefully
To ensure that your brand new The Canis Majoris shoes last for a long time, it's important to take good care of them. Depending on the type of shoe you have, you may need various tools such as newspapers, gloves, a brush, a polishing cloth, wax, and polish. You can easily find these items at general stores, shoe stores, or shoe repair shops. Additionally, you may consider purchasing our The Canis Majoris Shoe Care Kit, which includes all the necessary tools for leather care. Although not necessary, you can also use smooth leather shoe cleaner and waterproofing spray to further protect your shoes.
Get Ready & Clean
Pick a well-ventilated area and protect both your work surface and hands. Use our soft horsehair brush to remove any dirt from your shoes. After cleaning, gently wipe them with our soft polishing cloth.
Condition
Condition your shoes with our Natural Shoe Wax to soften and moisturize the leather. Remove the shoe laces. Rub a small amount of wax onto the shoe, until the entire shoe has been covered. After a couple of minutes, wipe off any remaining wax, as the leather will only absorb what it can.
Polish
Wear your gloves and apply our Neutral Shoe Polish sparingly in even circular motions with the dauber brush or cloth. Pay particular attention to the areas around the toe and heel. Allow the leather to absorb the polish for a few minutes.
Buff
Buff the whole shoe with the horsehair brush and some good old elbow grease. Follow up with the cloth, holding it taut between two hands and going over the surface in a sawing motion. Condition your shoes at least once a month or more, depending on how often you use them. Alternate between your, and let them rest from time to time.
